Save Money & The Earth - Use Recycled Plastic For Plastic Packaging March 21, 2008

Fast moving consumer goods are the biggest consumers of plastic packaging. Without packing, sophisticated goods with low shelf life will be easily affected by climatic conditions and eventually result in their malfunction or destruction.
Packaging is an important business function and the consumers must be aware of the plastic packaging used. Recycled plastic is the best option for plastic packaging.
The confusion over what we can and cannot recycle continues to confound consumers. Plastics are especially troublesome, as different types of plastic require different processing to be reformulated and re-used as raw material.
The easiest and most common plastics to recycle are made of polyethylene terephthalate (PETE) . Examples include soda and water bottles, medicine containers, and many other common consumer product containers.
Once it has been processed by a recycling facility, PETE can become fiberfill for winter coats, sleeping bags and life jackets. It can also be used to make bean bags, rope, car bumpers, tennis ball felt, combs, cassette tapes, sails for boats, furniture and, of course, other plastic bottles.
Next is high-density polyethylene plastics. HDPE Scrap is widely used to pack cosmetics, shampoos, dish and laundry detergent bottles, and trash and retail bags.
