Some of my buddies tried to convert their credit card debt to Maybank’s flexi repayment plans after they started to default on their credit card payments.
They wrote in but they got no reply. They called the bank but they were told to bank in money first and then the bank would start the application process.
Guess what? After they banked in the credit card payments, no action was taken. It’s only after many calls to the bank that they were sent the application forms.
It’s lucky that I turned down the car insurance policy offered by Maybank some time ago.

recently me n my partner try our luck for the instant 1-hour credit card approval by Citibank.When i rang up the customer service of citibank, i provided my details such as my basic salary n etc. Juz a general enquiry as this is my first time req for a credit card n if it fits than i can try to apply. She adv me the application of 1-hour credit card only can be done at Citibank Ampang (next to Nikko hotel near KLCC) n i’m staying in klang, so n request again can she tell me the requirement becoz only states in the tnc min of 18k perannum n others standard supporting doc. We do hev that…but behinds that i’m certain will be something else they will look into. N that wut i wanna know. Not the p n c one, juz general. But she seems cant answer that.
So…went off the next day, i x apply for it bcoz i’ve a car n housing loan n chang my mind at last n. But my partner did. 1st time apply, basic income more than min requirement, all supporting docs given, x personal loans, no issue with ctos n criss (he knew this bcoz hev chk with bank negara)…then might be success we thought…
The agent (a lady) adv need to wait for 1 hour for the result, n again i asked her if he suits the requirement. She said shudnt be a problem. N after 1 hour waiting, they declined our application due to ‘NO CREDIT CARD HISTORY – 1ST TIME REQUEST’ wtf…!!! We dont blame her, but those people who making such decision n misleading advertising…better states earlier ‘application only to those who hd a credit card!!’ wasting of time…
