It’s a shock when I received the news that my uncle was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Terminal Stomach Cancer. It sounds serious but it can be cured.
My uncle is an optimistic man. Even though he suffers from cancer, he is still as happy as a lark. I am sure his optimism will make his fighting with cancer easier.
One lucky thing that he and his wife have done is that they are quite financially stable for the time being. They started planning for financial freedom years ago after reading some debt free books and tips.
Implementing financial plan early has helped my uncle and his family live more securely. He doesn’t have any credit card debts to worry about. On the contrary, he has enough insurance coverage and also education funds for her two daughters, so he can focus on fighting with cancer.

We do everything we can to save and only buy what we really need. Most of it really changed when we had kids. We stopped “treating” ourselves and really stuck to buying what our kids needed.
To this day, I still subcribe to Martin Weiss’ online periodicals as well. He may not be 100% (although no one is) but I believe in his philosophy and it actually does take some work on my part as well.
Here are some of the money saving tips I use during me debt reduction. (more…)
